Hotel - The Vancouver (Metrotown)
Hilton is the location for all conference activities
except showcases. If you plan to stay at the
conference hotel you need to call and book
your reservation as soon as possible. A block
of rooms have been reserved for March 23, 2010
- March 30, 2010. The special room rate will
be available until March 5th or until the group
block is sold-out, whichever comes first. Guests
wishing to arrive early and/or leave late and
take advantage of our good hotel rates for
an extra stay may do so. By Telephone: Each

Volunteers Needed. http://www.fullcircleperformance.ca/ INDUSTRY NEWS The BC Arts Council is pleased to announce a new program: Special Project Assistance – Capacity and Sustainability. This is a pilot program in partnership with the Centre for Sustainability. The program is designed to assist arts and cultural organizations, affected by changes in the economy, that want to undertake specific activities to build capacity leading to future sustainability. The deadline for submitting a Letter of Intent is January 15, 2010 The BC Arts Council released its 2009-2013 Strategic Plan today, outlining its vision for supporting artists and arts organizations across the province. The plan outlines four primary goals designed to help the Council support its mission over the coming years. Council is currently developing an implementation schedule for the plan. Society Act: The BC Ministry of Finance
has initiated a review of the BC Society Act.
The stated purpose of the review from the Ministry's
webpage is to identify and address any
legislative obstacles that may prevent societies
from functioning fully and efficiently, and
ensure that the public interest is being protected. The
Ministry is seeking input on any problems,
gaps, inconsistencies or ambiguities in the
Society Act and any reforms societies
would like considered. The deadline for comments
for this first phase of the review is April
