General Description: Located on Nanaimo's breathtaking
waterfront, next to the Coast Bastion Inn, The Port Theatre is a multipurpose
facility that brings in a variety of local and top touring performing
arts groups, including acoustic and amplified music, drama, comedy, symphony,
musical theatre, children's entertainers as well as conferences and symposia.
Our lobby is ideal for trade shows, exhibit booths and receptions up to
700. In 2005, The Port Theatre won the Sterling Award for Business Excellence
in Arts/Culture/Entertainment presented by the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce
and in 2004 won the Presenter Organization of the Year by CAPACOA.

Comments: The Theatre has an on-call roster
of technicians and will attempt to supply any and all crew for load-in,
performance and load-out. When using house equipment, the house will have
a minimum crew requirement for each department. All crewing will be co-ordinated
by the TD.
